Overview
Essential to leading a team is the ability to manage oneself. This course develops knowledge in how to use effective personal time management to achieve team goals. Time management techniques are covered, allowing participants to set and prioritise personal SMART objectives. Participants also identify their strengths and weaknesses in time management, enabling them to become more effective. Time is given to examine the causes and symptoms of stress in the workplace, as well as the opportunity to develop skills in managing stress through the application of taught stress management techniques.

Following the completion of the course and assignment, the leader will be able to:

Course content
Birkman personality profile
Before attending day 1, participants will complete an online assessment tool called the Birkman Method. This is an in-depth personal assessment. The results will form part of the self-awareness and management process through the course.
Day 1
The Birkman assessment is explored through interactive discussion activities. A series of exercises are used to demonstrate and allow practise in applying time management tools.
Day 2
The second half of the day has an extended experiential exercise so that new tools can be applied in a personal management exercise. There is space for self-reflection and 1:1 feedback to enhance self-awareness.
