Vodafone is an established leader in providing resources to help parents keep their children safe online. Often parents did not use online resources, were reluctant to attend events and found lectures a big turn off. In the first year of teaching digital parenting, Vodafone Qatar had reached less than 50 people. They approached RRI to find a way to take the message to parents. Over the next three years we delivered training for over 12,000 people using creative approaches including an app-based treasure hunt around shopping centres, augmented reality activities in an educational festival and green screen video workshops in schools. Often, participants were engrossed in learning activities for 45 – 60 minutes, working on up to fifteen learning objectives – all while enjoying an entertaining experience that felt nothing like traditional teaching.
