About Us
Developing people, teams and organizations
Red Rock International was founded in 2005 by Nick and Robert, joined shortly thereafter by Nader. Together, they have become the leaders of an organization of over 30 incredible people. RRI was created to help people live their best lives at work. By influencing attitudes, developing skills, and building relationships, we have helped tens of thousands of people live better lives at work and beyond.
We started in a small town in South Wales, using the challenge of outdoor adventure as a catalyst for personal development. Since then, we’ve grown and built successful teams in Egypt, Qatar, Korea, and have an office near Edinburgh.
Our company was founded on the belief that businesses can benefit their communities and the environment, and that it’s not just about money. We strive to integrate this principle and related practices into everything we do.
Our vision is to be a global leader in transformative leadership, team development and personal development.
Our goal is to...
Create a stimulating workplace where staff are fulfilled, developed and valued.
Helping people within organizations to implement lasting positive change.
Developing a successful and sustainable business.
Have a positive social and environmental impact.

Our training is based on our own experience and business practices; we live what we teach.
Our team in Morocco
Scott Johnson
RRI Morocco co-founder
Scott knows how essential a healthy team is to achieving goals. Over the past 12 years, he has developed leaders on three different continents and encouraged teams to begin new chapters. Scott has lived and worked in a cross-cultural context and is energized by helping others build relationships and accomplish tasks despite challenges. Scott loves being in the mountains, either with a rope and harness or on a bike. If you see him running in the morning, be sure to greet him with “Sbah lkhir, Said.” Scott and his wife Ashleigh are thoroughly enjoying living in Morocco with their two boys.
Kyle Thibodeau
RRI Morocco co-founder
Kyle is passionate about developing people. Trained as an educator, with experience in outdoor leadership and cross-cultural communication, Kyle has seen firsthand the power of meaningful experiences to bring about positive change. Kyle and his wife, Melody, have lived and worked on three continents. They live in Morocco with their two children. Kyle is happiest when he has the opportunity to mountain bike on the trails around Marrakech, and even happier when he’s enjoying a warm plate of Tangia.
Our international team
Nick Ashley
Co-founder & MD RRI Qatar
After working for several years as an engineer controlling large chemical plants using computers, Nick became increasingly fascinated by how teams work together. This fascination, combined with his passion for building businesses and jobs, gave rise to the Red Rock International community. Nick’s experience in intense adventure leadership programs, corporate adventure races in the wild steppes of Kazakhstan, and senior executive training courses in prestigious hotels, has positioned him well to lead our operations in Qatar. Married, he has four grown children and still likes to think he can run well.
Robert Landon
Co-founder
Do you have a business plan or a people challenge to address? Robert is always enthusiastic about participating in discussions aimed at developing people and businesses. Since co-founding RRI in 2005, he has held numerous roles and currently leads the UK team and develops programs for our clients. For a break from his laptop and video calls, he enjoys exploring the rugged regions of Scotland—by mountain bike or on foot.
Sam Pate
Programme development
Sam leads the team at our Llanelli office and is passionate about developing creative approaches to engage learners. His engineering background, combined with his love of adventure and challenges, has given him the skills and experience needed to design exciting, useful, and relevant programs for our clients.
A new father, Sam works hard to continue surfing and climbing. Most at home in nature, Sam understands firsthand the need for good leadership and teamwork to achieve goals.
